Almost every single website you go on has an affiliate or associates program. So what are these programs, how do you get paid, and what exactly do you have to do? Well its quite simple actually. Affiliate programs, are programs you join as an affiliate, you provide products or services to other people online, but you do not personally carry any of these products. You get paid per sale you make. But you don’t get the full amount in most cases. Usually you get a certain percentage per sale.
Say you join an affiliate program and you make %50 of everything you sell. And you sell $500 worth of products, then you in turn will receive $250! That’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me! Some sites offer %15, others offer %80 it really depends on the website your joining.
Some really big sites like Amazon and Clickbank offer these programs, as well as medium sized sites like clothing sites, cooking sites, shoe sites, anti virus sites. You could literally find anything you want to sell, with in these programs. You just have to search for what you want. So if you want to sell cell phones for a living, you can go to Google and search for “Cell Phone Affiliate programs.”
In most cases these programs will give you your very own website. But what I like to do if I join a few of these affiliate programs, is incorporate them onto my main website. I have a cooking website, so I like to join sites that are relevant to my cooking site. Programs that offer gourmet food, kitchen gadgets, wine, kitchen accessories, cookbooks, etc. So when I write blogs on my site I can mention a cookbook or a new gadget I really like, and then I can include my referral link on the site.
There are also affiliate hubs, you can join. These sites allow major organization of all the sites you join. The two sites I am a member of are Kolimbo and Linkshare. Once you join these two programs you will find hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs on these sites. You simple join the ones you want, and then everything is available all in one spot. Stats, graphs, affiliate percentages, sales, leads, emails, banner codes, email codes. Everything!
If your searching for Affiliate websites in general, do a search on Google for “Affiliate Programs” or “Affiliate Websites.” If your searching for more Affiliate hubs, do a search for “Affiliate Hubs” or “Leading Affiliate Marketing Solutions Provider.”

In today’s economy you’re not alone if you’re looking for ways to bring in a little extra income each day and each week to help pay the bills. One thing you might consider doing is making a little extra money blogging. A blog, as you may already know, means a web log i.e. a place where people share their personal thoughts on a topic, or on every topic and the content is displayed in reverse chronological order.
Many people think of blogging as something to do for fun. But it’s time people start to become aware of the fact that blogging can provide a significant source of income.
Here is what you might consider doing. First you’ll want to set up your blog using one of the more popular services such as WordPress or Blogger. These blogs manage your content for you. You don’t have to be a web designer to have this sort of blog because the software is ready built to integrate and organize the content that you post.
There are two ways you can have a WordPress blog. It can be hosted on their servers which means you’ll have a domain like this: myblog.wordpress. There are advantages to this system because the software is more friendly to beginners and it has many tools built in to build up traffic. It’s also a free system. You can also get a WordPress blog at WordPress which means you will be hosting the blog with a hosting company that you pay for.
Whichever form of blog you choose the important thing is that you post to it frequently. For maximum effectiveness create your blog around a particular topic or niche such as fly fishing, or dating tips or whatever. This will make sure you are using keywords that will attract people from search engines like Google.
Once you have some traffic coming to your blog you can monetize the blog with AdSense ads. You can also go seek out sponsors who might be interested in placing banner ads on your blog. There are even websites out there that will pay you to review a product on their blog.
The other thing you can do with your blog is known as “affiliate marketing”. You can go to a site like Clickbank or Commission Junction and find a product that your target audience would be interested in.
Then you write a review about the topic. When you sign up with Commission Junction or Clickbank you’ll get a unique link. You should post that link before and after your review. If anyone purchases the product you wrote about through one of your links you will get a commission. If you keep blogging consistently these commissions can really begin to add up.

If you are just starting out in Internet Marketing with the aim to earn extra income or for whatever reason. Then the easiest and most uncomplicated way to start earning extra cash or building up a business, is by selling other peoples products, better know as Affiliate Marketing. In this article we will have a look at the various types of affiliate marketing opportunities that are available.Over the last few years, affiliate marketing has become very popular, no longer is affiliate marketing merely thought of as an alternative method for the merchant to advertise his products, but also as a means of generating additional income for the affiliates. With the benefit of little to no start-up costs makes affiliate marketing ideal for people who want to try their hand at Internet Marketing. And has in fact become the number one provider of advertising for the merchants and the main source of income for affiliate marketers. What you find out and ask yourself is; what type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? Are all affiliate marketing programs the same? Are the benefits the same? Or are there affiliate marketing programs that work better than the others? There are a number of types of affiliate marketing opportunities ranging from the basic Pay Per Click marketing to the more advanced Residual Income Marketing. Lets have a look at some of the various options available in more detail.1. Pay Per Click (PPC)PPC is most likely the most popular method of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing method, the merchant pays the affiliate whenever a visitor is directed to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through on the merchant’s banner or text ads. The affiliate gets compensated a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not buy anything from the merchant’s site. An example of this would be Google Adwords. This is where ads are placed on your site by Google or some of the other Search Engines. However, typical fees for PPC affiliate programs are small, usually not exceeding a dollar for every click.2. Pay Per Sale (PPS)PPS affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchants and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral converts into a sale, paid subscription or anything else entailing a financial commitment by the customer or lead. This means great savings for the merchant in advertising costs. On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, because commissions in PPP affiliate marketing can range from 15% to 20% and sometimes 75% of the actual product’s sales price. One the best advantages of PPS type of affiliate marketing is that you as the affiliate do not need to have a website of your own. You can make use of the PPC Method as mentioned above. You will then pay for the clicks on your advertisement that lead to the sales on which you then earn commissions. This method of marketing can also be the cheapest way to start out in internet marketing. Especially if you create you PPC Campaign in one of the lessor search engines where you would pay far less for your add then you would with one of the larger search engines such as Google etc.3. Pay Per Lead (PPL)The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who depend on leads for their company to grow. In this method of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant’s site fills in an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company. Commission for this type of affiliate marketing is based on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type.Aside from these three specific types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-level, two-level, and multi-level affiliate marketing. There is also another type of affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the customer he has referred purchases something from the merchant’s site.4. Single-Level, Two-Level, and Multi-Level Affiliate MarketingThese types of affiliate marketing are based on the different level or levels in the affiliate network by which payments are made. In a single-level affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the merchant. All the previously mentioned affiliate marketing types (i.e. PPS, PPL, and PPC) fall under the single-level classification. In two-level affiliate marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he refers to the merchant’s site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation.Multi-level, also know as Multi-level-Marketing (MLM) works in a similar way as two-level marketing, although the affiliate gets additional commission for a larger number of affiliates in different levels in the affiliate network under him. This is where great wealth has been created on the internet. It is more expensive then most other forms of Affiliate Marketing. But if you consider that it takes the same amount of work to market a single item which will give you a single commission, as it would to recruit someone into the program under you. Then it is a area worth exploring if you are serious about creating wealth through affiliate marketing5. Residual Income Affiliate MarketingIn residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for every customer he has referred to the merchant’s site. But, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred comes back to the site and purchases another product. Commissions for this type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis. The different affiliate marketing types work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, each would generally have their own list of benefits. Which method of affiliate marketing will work best for you? It is not for me to say. Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs, characteristics and budget best. You could for example start off with a simple PPC campaign and build up to the more lucrative MLM type of affiliate marketing. Or you could put all you efforts directly into MLM and build a solid business from the beginning.

Starting your own online business can be both costly and difficult if not built on a sound foundation of knowledge and how to apply that knowledge correctly.
