I have been using Clickbank ads on my websites and blogs for some time now. I like the ads because they look like my Adsense ads, but they display Clickbank products all from the Clickbank marketplace. The fact that they display ads for Clickbank products means that affiliates are paid the Clickbank affiliate commissions of between 50% and 75% of the sale.

There are a few websites on the internet that offer you Clickbank ads and some will even give them to you for free. Generally there is no difference between the free ones and the ones that you have to pay for. I prefer the free versions as that help keep costs down, and I see no reason to pay for something that you can get for free.

Free services: clickbank-adsense.com, affiliatesensor.com

Paid services: cbadbox.com, cbprosense.net, clickadspro.com

[I am not an affiliate of any of these websites, and links are direct to site]

Some of the websites above offer you the opportunity to customize the color of your ads. Or the ability to enter a keyword to determine the ad block content. I find a combination of these two features works best, and that has a lot to do with integration. If your ad units blend into your webpages well then you’ll most likely generate more sales. You only have to look at Google’s own website (google.com) to see this integration in effect. Note that the ads displayed on the page after you enter a search have a customized color scheme. Yes, you can tell that they are ads, Google even labels them as ‘sponsored links’. They have a slightly different color scheme – and the key, they are attractive and well placed.

Another thing you may want to bear in mind when adding Clickbank ads to your website is keywords. Some of the ad provides out there give you the chance to choose a keyword for your ads. Then, the ad unit displays ads that are relevant to that keyword. Say for example, you entered ‘marketing’ as a keyword, your ad unit would display ads about marketing. This also helps your ads appear more natural to your website, and your website content.

If your website is about Google, you could even enter the keyword ‘Adsense’ and have Clickbank ads displayed for products that are related to Google’s Adsense. Thus generating you an extra income stream, possibly even from your competitors websites. Some of the top websites use Clickbank for their marketing, and Clickbank ads quite often display ads for these top sites. Using keywords enables you to choose the content of your ads, right down to selecting an individual website.

Clickbank ads are a good source of extra income to your website, speaking from experience after replacing my adsense ad units with Clickbank ads I found that I was earning more from each click-through, and eventual sale. With the massive commissions offered by the Clickbank network the earning potential for affiliates is very good.

I think the main thing to remember is integration – make sure your ads suit the colors of your website, and make sure the content is similar.
