How Smart Affiliates advertise

Affiliate marketing is really only about promoting someone else’s product. You as an affiliate will simply sign up with the merchant as an affiliate or join an affiliate network such as clickbank or commission junction. Once you are an affiliate, your

job is to actively find customers for the merchant. You must drive as much targeted traffic to the merchant’s website as possible, through your affiliate link.

Advertising is the affiliate’s strongest weapon in making people aware of the merchant’s products. The affiliate’s advertising should therefore be both appealing and attracting to the potential customers. The less appealing your advertising is the less effective it is. Your advertising is only considered to be powerful when it manages to draw the attention of the potential customers.

The affiliate needs to use smart advertising if he wishes for his advertising to be powerful and effective. An example of this is by using a single key concept of affiliate marketing over and over again. You harness all you can from the human resources at hand. This simply means that the smart affiliate may tap into other people’s resources to attract more visitors to his own affiliate products.

The principle in making any affiliate program beneficial is simple but unquestionable. For example, an affiliate may make $1 for each visitor that fills in a form on the merchant’s website. If the affiliate refers 10 visitors a day who fill out the form, he makes $10 for the day. The smart affiliate must always ensure that his advertising costs are lower than his commissions. So in this example, the affiliate must not pay more than $1 per visitor in advertising costs, else he will not be making any profit.

The smart affiliate must keep in mind that he can increase his earnings by simply getting more targeted traffic to the merchant’s website. He must concentrate on utilizing other people’s resources.

How does one become a “Smart Affiliate”?

The answer to this question is way beyond the scope of this article. What I can tell you though is how you can get there. To become a Smart Affiliate, and by that a Super Affiliate, you need to be taught.  You need someone to show you exactly what works and what does not. The average person does not have the resources to invest into this learning process without a reliable mentor. This is the exact reason so many affiliates fail, or is left with mediocre results.

Get a mentor. Get it Right first time. You do not have the resources to learn on your own. You will go bankrupt before you have become a super, smart affiliate. Visit Maverick Money Makers for a club that truly cares about you. Why not let a professional teach you exactly how they made a fortune online, then simply duplicate their techniques?

What every Super affiliate does do though…

1. Chooses a website that is hot. Choose a product that is popular, don’t worry about the competition. If there is competition, there is traffic and money to be made!

2. Choose a merchant with considerable commission pay outs. If using clickbank, anything over 60% is great.

3. Where possible, build your own site to promote you affiliate links

4. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Build an email list. It has been proven that a person only makes a purchase after 7 contacts with you. Why work hard to drive traffic to your site when most people are going to look elsewhere, and make their purchase from an affiliate that did make 7 email contacts with them? Aweber is a great service that automates the whole process of building and maintaining an email list.

5. Incorporate Pay Per Click in your marketing efforts. You simply buy traffic, and pay per visitor. You need to know what you are doing though, as things can get rather expensive for the newbie PPC marketer. In fact many affiliates are using this method alone to generate boat loads of money!
